Buttons can be purchased through this website or at local businesses around Hastings. They can also be purchased at the gate during the event. Pre-sale button price is $15.00, at the gate is $20.00. Kids 12 & under are FREE.
If you purchase buttons online you will receive a ticket for each button purchased via email. Print those out or have them ready on your phone when you come to the event to receive buttons.

This is a whole new experience, a NEW Rivertown Days! The price increase is to cover the cost of an event that offers 4 stages of continuous live music, arts & crafts, a classic car show, carnival & food trucks. If you break it down by band it’s $0.60 a band. Remember, kids 12 & under are FREE.

The simple answer – COVID. Just a month ago state regulations would have required event organizers to count/limit the number of people and ensure social distancing. That is impossible to do with a mile long, FREE parade that does not require tickets to attend. Even though restrictions have lifted, parades take months to plan.

There are not fireworks for Rivertown Days due to cost. A typical fireworks show costs $1200 per minute. The committee felt after a year of no live music that guests would enjoy the opportunity to hear continuous live music for two days over a 10 min Fireworks show. PLUS, Hastings Golf Club has an amazing 4th of July Fireworks event that will take place July 2nd this year.

A button is required on Friday & Saturday as it has been in years past. The committee went through several scenarios and heard from many families that said RTD should be fun for the whole family. Separating the carnival from the music would segment the event. Parents wanted to be able to enjoy kid’s activities AND hear great music in one area instead of having to make a choice. All kids 12 & under are FREE! If parents are only interested in doing the carnival they can come down on Sunday and get access for free. The car show, Hastings Signs and access to the carnival are free on Sunday.

Yes, the downtown will become part of Rivertown Days this weekend and 2nd Street businesses are excited to be part of the celebration!
